2025 MISSION
After more than 2 months spent in Burundi, Corinne Chatel came back to Quebec her heart filled with smiles of happy children. Despite many challenges, it was a successful and memorable 20th mission where more than 1100 children have been equipped with their school supplies for the year 2025-2026.
Thanks to you, generous contributors, My School Bag was able to celebrate this anniversary by giving to many children, not one (1) but two (2) uniforms. Knowing they often do not have decent clothes to wear, our gesture was greatly appreciated and demonstrated by loud applause. Joy was felt during each distribution.
We usually send you a mission report a short time after our return to the country. This year, it
took longer as we have decided to add 214 more deprived children to our lists. As usual, they
received school bags, uniforms and all the materials required for the 2025-2026 school year.
It is also interesting to note that 4 more girls are going to university and 2 boys are taking a
professional training. Imagine 1,3000 children able to attend school thanks to your generosity
and support.
Despite a nationwide fuel shortage, the 20 th mission went well. To mark this 20th anniversary, we
offered the most deserving students a second uniform, knowing how few suitable clothes are
available to them. This gesture was welcomed as an incentive by both the children and the
parents present as they sheered in appreciation.
Additionally, we were able to help a little girl who had injured her eye. We supported her mother
(single parent) by paying for the necessary medication. Our intervention , we hope, will save her
from the worst.
More than ever, we are convinced that our collaborative work with the most vulnerable and our
support for the poor bring a glimmer of hope into this world that makes life more beautiful. This is invaluable, and I thank you for it.
