St-Joseph school visit 2025
Under the supervision of their teacher, Madame Martine, grade 5 students attending St-Joseph Scholl in Mercier rallied to help children in need.
Indeed as part of a school project where children from each classroom were asked to present a country, Mme Martine’s student chose Burundi. They went from classroom to classroom to present this country, one of the poorest on the planet. Sensitive to the fact that a lot of Burundian children, due to lack of financial resources, did not have access to education, they took this opportunity to speak about My School Bag. Determined to make a change, they raised awareness to their family members and raised an amount of 502$, an empty can at a time. This means a great deal of cans and bottles!!! Better for the environment and very profitable to the children in Burundi. Well-done kids, well-done teacher. To all of you, we wish a fantastic summer.
