2024 mission
Dear contributors
Despite the difficulty of finding gasoline in the country, our 19th mission in Burundi was completed without a hitch.
Our contribution to the education of around a thousand children was particularly appreciated as the Burundians have not been spared the consequences caused by the inflation which is raging throughout the world. In addition, floods on the border of the Democratic Republic of Congo have been repeated for a third consecutive year.
Another organization, OPDE, The Humanitarian Work for the protection and Development of Children in Difficulty, requested our help. Every year since 2015, they have helped us by providing premises allowing us to safely distribute school bags to the children. Thankful for their ongoing support, we have accepted to respond to their request by adding 30 more children in difficulty. In this group, we have now 114 beneficiaries.
Near the Tanzania border, in Rutana, 30 more small children received a bag containing all school supplies allowing them to enroll for the 2024.25 school year.
Impressed by the dedication and gratitude of a young Burundian woman who was once helped by Canadian through OPDE, next year, we would like to help a group of approximately 40 little ones who were attending her kindergarten this year. Grateful for the help she received in her youth, this young lady built this kindergarten and is happy to offer these young ones with the happiness of soon accessing primary school.
It was another fruitful mission that we were able to achieve thanks to you.
