A very sad and disturbing event

Last May 21st, Jeff and Corinne were in Buterere, less than a kilometre from the city dump when Jeff received a call advising him of the accidental death of one of our beneficiary, Elie Itangishaka. A garbage truck got stuck in the wastes. Elie wanting to help was hit by the truck when a rope broke. People on the scene tried to bring Elie to the hospital but the child died on route.

We will try, as much as possible, to help the family. Already, the badly damaged house was repaired thanks to an anonymous donation. One of the two remaining children, 2 girls, is already on our lists. We made a promise to the mother telling her that her younger child will receive a school bag as soon as she is old enough to attend school. Both girls wore around their wrist, as a sign of mourning, a purple ribbon.

Visits to Mubone School will never the same.
